Your perspective matters. Your voice matters. Come get inspired by young professionals and leave with plans that actually make an impact. 💚

Jonge Klimaat Beweging

African & Caribbean Heritage Network

Culture is that which shapes us; it shapes our identity and influences our behaviour. Culture is our way of being and refers to the shared language, beliefs, values, norms, behaviours, and material objects that are passed down from one generation to the next. ACHN therefore believes that cultural diversity helps us recognise and respect ‘ways of being’ that are not necessarily our own, so that as we interact with others we can build bridges to trust, respect, and understanding across cultures. ACHN's goal is to be a groundbreaking organisation that leads the way in representation for all students, both undergraduates and postgraduates.

Fraaiwerkt

Fontys Caribbean Connection

Fontys Caribbean Connection (FCC) was officially established in January 2024. FCC aims to unite Caribbean students and foster a sense of belonging on the campuses in Eindhoven and Tilburg, as well as in the surrounding cities and provinces in the South of the Netherlands where Fontys locations are present. The community is dedicated to supporting students throughout their entire academic journey—from the beginning until graduation.
FCC became an official community of Fontys University of Applied Sciences when community initiator Shane Lobato de Mesquita collaborated with teachers and counselors to create a network for Caribbean students. As a growing community, FCC continues to expand its reach, welcoming new members and strengthening its support system for Caribbean students at Fontys.

WeConnect

Kompas

Founded in 2018, Stichting Kompas for Students supports Dutch Caribbean students who are currently studying in the Netherlands. We do this through skill-building sessions, and social events. Most students don’t feel ready or don’t have a good understanding of what it truly is to be a student in the Netherlands. Kompas is here to prepare you and guide you throughout your journey; from start to finish we will walk the unpaved road together.

Leiden Caribbean Community

Leiden Caribbean Community (LCC) is a student association for and by Dutch Caribbean students in Leiden. While we are an independent organization, we maintain a strong partnership with Hogeschool Leiden and Universiteit Leiden.
Our mission is to bring the warmth of the islands to Leiden by incorporating Caribbean food, music, and culture into everything we do. Through our events and activities, we create a home away from home, fostering a vibrant and supportive community. In addition, we are committed to the personal and professional development of our members, helping them grow both socially and academically.
